Ushers

Ushers are selected in pairs in advance and are responsible for the smooth flow of worshippers during the course of the service. Below is an itemized list, in order, of the duties they are expected to perform.

AcolytesAcolytes

The acolytes of St. Stephen’s are members of the parish who volunteer their time and talent to serve during the liturgy by carrying the processional crosses and torches. The Servers are trained to serve the Priest (celebrant) at the altar, taking part in the Gospel Procession, distributing the offering plates and assisting with the smooth procession of people to and from communion.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM)

The Lay Ministry at St .Stephen's is a selected group of volunteers, who are licensed by the Bishop to administer the consecrated elements of the Eucharist (bread/wine). This ministry is understood to be an extraordinary ministry and is not to take the place of the ministry of priests and deacons concerning the administration of the Eucharist.

Lectors

A Lector is a lay person who volunteered and is trained to read the scripture during the Sunday service or on special Holy Day events.

Therefore, if you feel God's presence and are moved to participate in any of the above ministries, please contact Bev Boyer or the Senior Warden for more information.
